Grandma Marion’s Lemon Bars

Follow these instructions exactly for the most perfect lemon bars of all time. OF ALL TIME (Kanye voice)

 2 cups Flour
 1 cup Soft Butter
 ½ cup Powdered Sugar
Lemon Filling
 4 Eggs
 2 cups White Granulated Sugar
 56 tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice
 ½ tsp Salt
 1 tsp Baking Powder
 ¼ cup Flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.


In medium bowl, cream butter. Add flour and powdered sugar. Mix until it forms a dough. This may take a few minutes, but be patient.


In greased 9x13 pan, spread dough evenly. It is deceiving, but it will fill the pan. Bake for 15 minutes.

Lemon Filling

In new bowl, beat 4 eggs and sugar until blended. Add 5 to 6 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice. (I did 5 and thought it could've used more). Blend.


Add salt, baking powder, and flour. Mix until fully incorporated without over blending.


Pour on baked crust. Bake for an additional 25 minutes. Let cool completely, then dust with powdered sugar before serving. May take upwards of 5 hours.
